The Take off from a Girl to an Ambitious Woman

Being that girl from Goa, sitting in a place was never my cup of tea. It was always hopping on the motorcycle and roaming around with friends. I never sat at a place for more than an hour.

My life which started and ended on motorcycles has now undergone a paradigm shift towards learning how to do time management, discover new interests and adapt to new changes in my life which I never imagined. Relocating to Bangalore sounded cool but little did I knew that Bangalore had a new set of challenges waiting for me. From being that only girl from Goa to adjusting to the new culture and mingling with my mates from Kerala as well as rest of India was a major hurdle.

DREAM is such a word which brings enlightenment and sometimes disappointment too! I have always learned that ” If you really want your dream to come true, then see it with your eyes opened”. Whenever I speak about my dreams I always got criticized from the opposite side just because I called myself a ‘woman’ in my dreams.

Though Goa is a tourist destination, in terms of aviation the opportunities are minimal compared to Bangalore. Hence, the thought about moving here made me feel more closer to achieving my goals. It took me 6 months to research about what all fields are there in aviation. The gateways and the horizon of the industry is unfathomable; be it Aircraft Engineers, Pilots, Cabin Crew, Ground Staff and more. Each position comes with its own pros and cons, but if one has to achieve your dream then you have to ignore all the cons and focus only on pros.

I always wanted to hold a  CPL (Commercial Pilot License), it has been my only dream. It is said that with dreams come challenges. Here it was financial. Pursuing a CPL wanted money in lakhs and being from a middle class family and child of a single parent I too had to forget this dream but still this didn’t stop my love for AVIATION nor for the AIRCRAFTS. I wanted to go in Aviation field itself and made sure I will get in one.

All the people working in the Aviation industry, either on air or ground needs to be disciplined and calm enough to handle the worst situation one can imagine. One needs to sacrifice a “good night sleep” for “the call of duty”. Every sector has its own training according to its level and working environment. It is mandatory to be gentle and polite towards the passengers no matter how harsh the situation turns. I had made my mind clear that being an AIRPORT MANAGER is something which I am looking upto! But one cannot directly be an Airport Manager. One needs to go through different professional arenas from executive officer level to chief executive officer and so on.

KGI came to me as a blessing and helped me to hold my dream as my priority.I know it is a long process but I never learnt to give up. Also it is said that, “Success without failure is not success but just luck and no success comes without hardship, rejection, failure and most important bouncing back on track makes one more stronger.”

I hope sharing my experience would be a little helpful for all my mates here.
