In order  to crack interviews, one must keep abreast with the latest current affairs. Every student has a different technique  to excel in their interested area. Various researches are being conducted on  Education, Teaching Skills and Learning Methodologies, which can be used to learn easy ways of note-taking, course book perusing, memorizing and progressive surveying.

Here in this article, I’m giving my top 10 study mantras that can assist you in getting success. If you follow these tips consistently and willingly, you can crack any entrance exam, even UPSC / IAS too.

1.Time Management

The most important mantra to be followed is to manage the time while keeping the syllabus in mind.  Without proper time management, it is difficult to clear the exam, one should prioritize the tasks, make a list of  important topics and complete them.

2.Organize Your Schedule

It’s always better to be ahead of time to schedule and organize rather than trying to cram  everything at the last minute. Familiarize yourself with a schedule of exams that you  are attempting and calculate time and create a proper study plan.

3.Create A Study Plan

Planning is an art of making things possible. Pre-plan things , know what you are going to cover on a particular day and how the revision session takes place. One must  also remember to take breaks in between which is essential.

Try to apply Russian physiologist Ivan Pavlov’s experiment which helps you to create a perfect mood for your study. In his experiment, he made the dog salivate as soon as it heard the bell ring even without the food. Likewise, your brain makes the association  and becomes trained accordingly if you study the same subject at the same time at the same place. It’s a wonderful trick which helps to gain interest in complicated subjects as well.

4.Get Help Online

These days it’s very easy to clear your doubts any time anywhere as the technology is at our fingertips. There are many courses and tutors available online. If you have trouble following the syllabus and require guidance, you can always get help.

5.Adopt Shortcuts /Tricks

Work shrewd, not hard! The benefit of monitoring time and planning during the preparation isn’t enough. These are predominantly aptitude based exams and it’s thus necessary that you know  the shortcut method for every possible question. Every minute counts during your exam, shortcuts/ tricks will be of immense help

6.Practice Previous Question Papers

Rehearse previous year question papers. Make sure to attempt them in the given time frame  and compare your scores. This will give you enough confidence.

7.Fix Weekly Targets and Achieve Them

I suggest one should have small and  achievable weekly targets where one can attempt to accomplish them and calculate the success rate every week. It’s not bad if you score 80 – 90% of your weekly target, but try to make it 90 plus.

8.Revise, Revise & Revise

It’s not possible for anybody to recall everything all the time, but multiple revisions will be effective for better retention. Revise and take as many mock tests as possible on a regular basis. It’s very important to get the hang of your level of preparation compared to your fellow contestants and be prepared.

9.Release All The Fear and Stress

One of the necessities for the preparation is to be completely fearless and stress-free. Meditation and  yoga will enhance your confidence and positivity. Avoiding nervousness and stress will help you focus better.

10.Take Care of Yourself

Taking care of yourself is as important as studying. To be prepared for exams, one should be mentally and physically healthy.
