BREASTFEEDING WEEK 2022, AUGUST 1ST – AUGUST 7TH
AUGUST 1ST,2022
Breastfeeding week started with poster competition. The theme for the poster competition was “STEP UP FOR BREASTFEEDING – EDUCATE AND SUPPORT”. The posters were made by students from all batches of BSc nursing, GNM nursing and AHS students. The poster were judged by staff from KAMS department. Cash prizes were awarded by the students who won the competition.
AUGUST 2nd,2022
Breastfeeding health education was conducted in Bellahalli slum (community). It was conducted by 3rd Gnm nursing students. The health talk started at 10 am with an invocation song followed by mime. Role play was done based on the theme and health talk regarding breastfeeding. The community responded well by thanking the students for information. The students distributed sweets after the programme.
AUGUST 3RD, 2022
Breastfeeding seminar was conducted in the auditorium from 10am to 12pm. The guest speaker for the seminar was Mrs. Savitri Raman, Nursing lecturer, sultan kaboos university, oman. The seminar started with an invocation song followed by inauguration by lighting the lamp by dignitaries. Mime was done by 3rd BSc nursing students. Health talk was given by Mrs. Savitri Raman. Followed by distribution of cash prize for the winners of poster competition.
AUGUST 5th, 2022
Food fest was conducted by 3rd gnm and 3rd bsc nursing students in the college campus. The students actively participated the programme. The food fest was followed by model exhibition done by 3rd gnm and 3rd bsc nursing students.
AUGUST 6th, 2022
Students of 3rd gnm and 3rd bsc conducted breastfeeding health education programme in Koshys hospital OPD. The programme started at 12pm with an invocation song followed by mime. Health talk was given by 3rd bsc nursing students and demonstration of breast feeding was done by 3rd gnm nursing students. The patients actively participated in the programme. Model exhibition was kept for the patients to see and explanation was given by students.
